Data Health Admin Page
Data Health is an admin page that flags incomplete or inconsistent user records and lets you fix them for many people at once, rather than editing one person at a time.
What it is
Data Health sits next to User Management and checks your active people for gaps and problems: a missing job level, job title or location, a line manager who has left, employee number or email gaps, and any custom fields you use. Each check shows either an issue count or a green OK state. It does not replace editing a single person on their own record. It is there for the bulk cases.
Why it's there
It saves you hunting through the Users list for people with missing or broken data. You can see the gaps at a glance and put many of them right in one go.
Who can use it
Anyone who can already manage users. That means your company has the User Journey module, and you have permission to view and manage employees (the same access as the Users list).
If you only manage part of the company, Data Health only shows and acts on your people. You never see company-wide counts you cannot fix.
How to use it
Data Health is a tile on the admin homepage.
- Open an issue card with Review and fix, or use Find users to build your own batch. OK cards are green and do not open the workspace.
- Add people to a batch, either the whole page, one by one, or everyone matching.
- Choose one field to set: manager, job level, job title, location, or a custom field.
- Click Preview to see how many people will update and who will be skipped, with the reason.
- Click Apply. Everyone who can be updated is updated, and anyone skipped is named. It is never all-or-nothing.
Good to know
- Checks run over active people only (Active, Induction, and Exit Review), and test users are excluded. If issues you expected are not showing, they may be among leavers or test users.
- The "no active manager" check flags people whose manager has left or is not Active or Induction, even when a manager is set. Top-level managers are exempt.
- Employee number, email, and status cannot be bulk-edited here. Those checks are for diagnosis only. Fix them per user, or in your source data if you have an employee data integration.
- The employee number and email cards stay hidden when nobody in your scope has that field filled in.
- When you set a manager in bulk, anyone whose change would create a reporting loop is skipped with a clear reason. Everyone else still updates.
- If your company syncs user data from an HR system, a banner warns that the next sync may overwrite fields the integration owns. You can still make manual edits, but they may not stick if the integration supplies that field. Where a company is fully integrated, it is usually better to fix the data at source in the HR system.
- The Excel export is on the Users list, not on Data Health itself, and it respects your current search and filters. Manager columns show the effective manager, so they appear blank if unset or if that person is not Active or Induction.
- If you cannot see Data Health at all, the usual cause is a missing User Journey module or missing view/manage employees permission, the same access as the Users list. If you can open User Management but not Data Health, that is the thing to check.
