Setting your company colour scheme

You can set your company's primary colour, accent colour and background tint yourself, from Platform Configuration in the admin area. Colour changes no longer need to be raised with us.

What it is

Platform Configuration is the admin area for your fundamental company settings: company name, logo, help contact details, maintenance mode, and the post-login welcome message. The Main Details tab includes a Colour Scheme section, where you set three things:

Primary colour - your main brand colour.
Accent colour - used for highlights and secondary elements.
Background tint - optional. The light shade that sits behind cards and panels. Leave it blank and Korero uses a pale version of your primary colour instead.

Why it's there

Colour changes previously had to be requested from us and waited on. You can now make them yourself and see the result straight away.

Who can use it

You need the Platform Configuration permission. Superadmins have it automatically, and everyone else needs it assigned to their access role.

It's worth being deliberate about who gets it. Platform Configuration also covers maintenance mode and your company name, so you may want administrators who manage people and journeys day to day without the ability to change company-wide settings.

How to use it

Open the admin homepage.
Find the Platform Configuration tile under System Configuration. This page is not in the left navigation.
Stay on the Main Details tab.
Scroll to the Colour Scheme section. Select the "i" icon next to the heading if you want guidance on what each colour does.
Set your primary colour and your accent colour.
Set a background tint if you want one, or leave it blank.
Save.

Good to know

Colour changes can take a few minutes to reach everyone, because colours are cached.
Company name and logo behave slightly differently to colours. Your own view updates as soon as you save, and other people pick the change up the next time their company details refresh, usually within about an hour if they stay signed in. Asking them to refresh the page speeds that up.
If your organisation uses Brands, each brand carries its own logo and colours, and those apply to people based on their location. The colours you set here are the company defaults, used where a brand has none of its own.
If you can't find the Colour Scheme section at all, the usual cause is either the Platform Configuration permission not being assigned to your role, or looking for the page in the left navigation rather than on the admin homepage.
