August 2026 - Product update: Seven new features
This month's release is mostly about giving you, our admins, more direct control over how Korero is set up and run day to day. Six of the seven features below are things you configure or do yourself in Admin, with less need to come to us for assistance. The seventh is an optional add-on for journeys/conversations.
Every feature has its own help article linked below if you want the full detail.
We're opening things up
Two changes we're really pleased about this month.
First, our roadmap is now public. You can see exactly what we're working on and what's coming next at roadmap.korero.io. Have a look, and let us know what you'd like us to prioritise. We want you to have a clear view of where Korero is heading.
Second, we're changing how you hear about new features. From this release on, top-level admins will get release news directly in the app, so the latest improvements come to you rather than you having to go looking for them.
More visibility into what's next, and a faster line to what's just been released. Now, on to what's new this month.
More control in your hands
We've had a steady push to hand admins more self-serve control over managing the system, rather than having to request changes via support. We're excited to have released the following six features.
Admin impersonation
Before this release, troubleshooting issues with your team was difficult - you had to ask them to share screenshots, or ask us to look into issues on your behalf. Now you can open Korero in a new tab and see the product exactly as a specific employee sees it, with the same journeys, tasks, and dashboards. Your own tab stays signed in as you, and a banner always shows who you're viewing as. Starting and ending a session is recorded in that user's admin history.
Good to know: this needs the Impersonate Users permission, which isn't granted automatically with Manage Employees. You assign it deliberately, so you can have admins who manage user details but can't impersonate. Which users someone can impersonate follows the same scope as their Manage Employees access.
Form content preview
See exactly what employees and managers will get on a form or journey without sending a journey to somebody first. Switch between Employee and Manager wording, step through multi-form journeys by section, and download a PDF to mark up and share change requests with us.
Notification sending
Create and send your own email (and mobile push notifications, if you have a communications mobile app configured with Korero) messages to a filtered audience from Admin → Notifications. It's built for chaser messages, like nudging managers about people who haven't started a review, or employees waiting on a step. Each notification is reusable, and you choose the audience filters at send time.
Platform configuration
Manage your company's core settings yourself, from the System Configuration section of the admin homepage. Update your company name, logo, and help contact details, and set a welcome message that people see after they sign in. Maintenance mode is switched on and off from here too.
Good to know: this is controlled by the Platform Configuration permission, so you can limit core company settings to the admins who should manage them. Changes to your company name, logo, and maintenance mode show for you straight away, and other people pick them up the next time their session refreshes.
Maintenance mode
Put the app into maintenance mode when you need to take it out of use for a while. While it's on, everyone sees a full-screen "Maintenance in Progress" holding page instead of the app, showing either your own message or the default wording. You turn it on and off from the Platform Configuration page above.
Good to know: admins with the Platform Configuration permission can still use the app while maintenance mode is on, so you can keep working during the maintenance window. It only changes what people see in the app, so it isn't a full system shutdown.
Data health page
A page next to User Management for spotting incomplete or inconsistent active user records and fixing them for many people at once, rather than one at a time. It flags gaps like missing job level, job title, location, or an inactive line manager, then lets you build a batch and update a field across everyone at once. Preview before you apply, so you can see who'll update and who'll be skipped, and why.
Good to know: if your admin access is scoped to part of the company, Data Health only shows and acts on your people. If you sync user data from an HR system, a banner warns you that the next sync might overwrite a change.
For your whole team
Third party feedback
Employees and managers on a career conversation can now invite a third party, such as a skip-level (N+1) manager, to leave notes on a review. It's a lighter-touch option than adding a full co-contributor to the journey, and it can be used while a review is still in progress or after it's finished (e.g. for feedback on how a review conversation went).
You control this per journey via the Journeys section in the Admin area. Depending on the feedback mode you set, the invited person either just leaves notes (without seeing the review) or gets read-only access to the review plus a notes section. There's also a mode that lets the employee choose per request.
Good to know: this needs the Feedback Requests module switched on (get in touch if you're interested!), and the journey type's feedback mode set to something other than None. If either isn't in place, the option won't appear.
